Navish Wadhwa has won the Young Scientist Award at the the 10th European Fluid Mechanics Conference in Copenhagen
Our Centre for Ocean Life PhD-student Navish Wadhwa has won the award for the presentation "Hydrodynamics and energetics of jumping copepod nauplii and adults" at the 10th European Fluid Mechanics Conference in Copenhagen.
The prize was awarded for the best oral presentation among all participants under the age of 35. Navish talked about his work (done together with centre members Thomas Kiørboe, Anders Andersen, Lasse T Nielsen and Rodrigo Goncalves) on flow measurements around swimming zooplankton and how different plankton try to optimize their hydrodynamic footprint, to avoid detection by predators.
